The seeding and pools for the 2022 USA Ultimate National Championships are out now! We are just nine days away from the start of the biggest tournament of the season. Stay tuned for details about Ultiworld’s livestreaming and reporting coverage from San Diego.
Here are the pools:
Men’s Division [FULL SCHEDULE]
Notes
- Two recent champions — PoNY (2018) and Sockeye (2019) — are set to square off in Pool D.
- USAU kept Johnny Bravo seeded ahead of Doublewide, despite the teams being fairly close in the rankings and Doublewide owning the head-to-head win at South Central Regionals.
- In an unusual move, Revolver was seeded ahead of two teams — Omen and GOAT — that finished above them in the post-Regionals rankings.
Mixed Division [FULL SCHEDULE]
Notes
- It’s certainly a surprise to see Polar Bears seeded down at #7. They are ranked #5, ahead of both Toro and Mixtape, and have a head-to-head 12-8 win over Toro. Perhaps USAU slid Toro into Pool C to avoid the Southeast Regional rematch with Space Force.
- Mixtape is given credit for their late season strength and WUCC championship relative to their ranking.
Women’s Division [FULL SCHEDULE]
Notes
- A bit surprising to see Nemesis seeded ahead of Parcha, to whom they lost head-to-head, and Nightlock, who was ranked above them. USAU seems to be rewarding teams that won their region in certain situations.
- The Southwest sent its top two teams, Fury and Flipside, into the top two seeds at Nationals.
