The backbone of every great sports analysis is stats. Thanks to the increased media coverage at Nationals, coupled with a larger volunteer group covering each game, the cumulative data at this tournament is unparalleled. It provides a different way of viewing the game that can sometimes cut through the noise and justify or invalidate eyewitness reports.

One day of ultimate doesn’t provide us a ton of statistical relevance, but there are still some numbers that pop out immediately. These are the stats that caught our attention on Day One of Club Nationals.
