D-I Men’s
Slugs Win Stanford

#5 California-Santa Cruz Slugs powered past all opponents to win Stanford Invite, taking down #19 British Columbia Thunderbirds 13-10 in the final. It was an impressive weekend for the Slugs, who were playing without two key contributors in Selim Jones and Milan Moslehi. Before the final, their closest game was a five goal victory.
Likewise, UBC was fairly dominant until the bracket stage. Illinois Rise and #20 Wisconsin Hodags offered UBC close games in the quarterfinal and semifinal round respectively. Tulane Tucks were the fourth semifinalist, taking down D-III Lewis & Clark Bacchus in a riveting quarterfinal.
You can watch that matchup along with six other games in Ultiworld’s video library.
Around the Division
- Utah Valley Ultimate won Centex, going undefeated through pool play and the bracket despite a loss to #15 Texas TUFF in Friday night’s showcase game. UVU beat D-III’s Colorado College Wasabi in the final 15-9.
- Davenport Panthers won the Invite Division of the Grand Rapids Invite, rolling through the competition without allowing more than six goals in any of their games. Wisconsin B Fauxdags likewise crushed all opponents as they swept their way through the development team heavy Open Division.

PACCON
