Which posterizing skys and field-denting layouts will live on in clipped history forever?

Ultiworld’s coverage of the 2026 college ultimate season is presented by Spin Ultimate; all opinions are those of the author(s). Find out how Spin can get you, and your team, looking your best this season.
A staple of my childhood, the Top Ten Plays that ended each episode of the daily SportsCenter show on ESPN were must watch television. Several times a week, I sprinted from my front door down to the bus stop because I needed to watch the Top Ten Plays segment from 6:57 to 6:59 each morning before my 7:00 a.m school bus.
Ultimate does occasionally make it to the real show, but since I doubt that many staff members at ESPN are watching every game streamed on our site, we took the time to curate the Top Ten plays that happened in the men’s division on Saturday.
10. Drew Loughnane Skies Over a Double Team for a Big Break in Prequarters Against Oregon State
Loughnane initially has trouble reading the disc, twisting over both shoulders before elevating over two well positioned defenders to make the grab.
9. Pittsburgh’s Micah Davis Bids to Go Up 13-12 Against Georgia Tech in Prequarters
Some might call this a bit gratuitous, but Davis was leaving nothing to chance in the late stages of a bracket game.
8. Utah’s Will Selfridge Chased Down This Stunning Grab Against Georgia Tech During Pool Play
Note: this was called down by the defense but ruled a catch and a goal by the observer. Though video review indicates that the disc was down, we are including it because it’s already impressive enough that Selfridge chased it down, and because it counted in the game.
7. Georgia Tech’s Neal Zeng Roofs Two Pitt Defenders to Tie the Game at 11 in Prequarters
What is most impressive about this play is the timing. Zeng times his jump perfectly over two closing defenders to convert a critical late game chance.
6. Felix Moren’s Toe-Tap for an Oregon State Hold Out of Half Against Penn State in Prequarters
While moving at top speed, Moren keeps his eyes on the disc while also checking his surroundings to ensure he stayed in bounds on this critical hold out of half.
5. Maryland’s Blake Pahlavan holds on for an And-1 grab against Michigan to Win the Game and Send the Space Bastards to the Bracket
With the game on the line, Miles Grovic spotted Pahlavan open for the hammer. As he threw it, Aaron Bartlett peeled off and launched himself towards the disc looking for a block to save Michigan’s season. Instead, Pahlavan made the grab — despite being smacked in the face by Bartlett’s follow through. Walking off with the game winner would have been cool enough, but Pahlavan did so with what would be an iconic poster if we still printed posters.
4. Becker Joseph’s Chest-High Bid to Deny Oregon State a Break in Prequarters
This one generated some block of the year buzz. Not sure it’s quite that level, but this angle doesn’t even quite do it justice. Joseph was trailing this play and went flying to deny this Oregon State break attempt and keep the game within reach early.
3. Elijah Diamond’s Deep Cut Knocks out UNC on Universe
Unsure how UNC lets this happen, but it’s on the list for the pure significance of the moment. On universe point, Diamond gets into the cutting space, makes one jab step, and goes untouched into the deep space. He runs down the huck and the star-driven DiRT squad’s biggest star sends North Carolina Darkside home.
2. Alex Nelson U-Point Layout Block against Washington in Men’s Pool Play
Alex Nelson saw the competition between Sam Grossberg and Ben Thoennes for best double game point layout block on day one and gave us a third contender on day two, locking down Carter Bayer in the reset space and delivering the layout block to get SLOCORE the disc back and the key win to clinch their bracket appearance.

1. Ezra Beidler-Shenk’s Layout Callahan for Pitt’s First Break Against Georgia Tech in Prequarters
Pitt needed a momentum swing in a big way and they got it from their rookie Beidler-Shenk, who laid out for a full extension callahan to earn En Sabah Nur their first break of their prequarter versus Georgia Tech. That brought Pitt within 6-4 and was the first break of ultimately a 7-2 run that turned a 6-2 deficit into a 9-8 lead.
