Teams Drop From Men’s Centex; Tournament Now Single Game Between Texas & Texas A&M

texasCentex was already set to be a much smaller than usual tournament. Now it’s down to a single game.

The initial seven team field has dwindled to two after UC Santa Barbara, Florida State, and Tufts all dropped, and Tulane and LSU have opted to attend Huck Finn.

The two remaining teams, Texas and Texas A&M, will now play a single sanctioned game at the “Centex Invite.” The game could be meaningful, as A&M is expected to be ranked #17 this week in the USAU rankings and Texas is just outside the bid cutoff at #21.

Centex tournament director Chase Cunningham expects the tournament to return at full force next year on Texas’ brand new intramural fields (currently being remodeled).
