Long-time international ultimate commentator Tom Styles will be the broadcasting talent for the upcoming World Games competition, the World Flying Disc Federation announced yesterday.
“I’m thrilled to be involved with the coverage of The World Games, and to be working with the Olympic Channel,” Styles said in a statement. “It’s an amazing opportunity to showcase our sport on the world stage. The action promises to be of the very highest standard, and it will be a great honor to take my place behind the microphone to bring it to existing and new fans of our exciting sport.”
He will face an unusual challenge over the weekend, as he will be calling games as a solo broadcaster remotely from a studio in Spain, not on the ground at the Games in Poland.

Styles has been commentating ultimate games since 2002 and most recently did play by play at Beach Worlds in Royan last month as well as last summer’s World Championships in London.
Livestreaming coverage begins at 7:15 AM Eastern on Friday with a tape delayed matchup between Australia and Japan. Games will be available on the Olympic Channel website and mobile app as well as the World Games website.
