#1 UC San Diego seemed indestructible as they approached Northwest Challenge, but without star Dena Elimelech and some other key contributors, they were struggling to keep their feet underneath them. #22 Oregon’s zone defense and similar pace kept them right with UCSD, and they hoped it could score them a huge bid-securing upset as they pulled.
