Chicago Supernova makes their second appearance in the Universe Point series, as they showed themselves to be the queens of playing tight games. Having never even attended college nationals before, this unheralded Great Lakes squad’s run at nationals was impressive. Reigning national champion UC San Diego DCo’s offseason rebrand matches their roster, some old and some new. With stars Dena Elimelech and Kelli Iwamoto out to graduation, the odds of pursuing consecutive titles seemed long. But before they can think about the bracket, they’ve got to get past fiesty Chicago in pool play!
