AUDL Experiments in All-Star Game, Mixed Northwest Cup
Portland, Oregon, played host to 30 AUDL All-Stars in an innovative showcase matchup where an altered ruleset led to a high scoring affair. A five-second stall count, “back court” line, two-point line, and pulls from the brick made the game feel quite a bit different as the league toyed with the rules.
The East Central combo squad thumped the South West side 42-24. Minneapolis Wind Chill’s Abe Coffin took home game MVP honors.

Long-time Indianapolis AlleyCat Cameron Brock shared his thoughts on the new rules and how they impacted the game.
Jaime Perez provided perhaps the highlight of the night with a sky over two-time MVP Ben Jagt.
Meanwhile, players from the Western Ultimate League took the field with AUDL performers from Seattle and Portland in an 8-vs-8 mixed showcase match dubbed the Northwest Cup.

The Seattle side recovered from down 14-10 with a steady second half climb, tying the game at 15-15 to start the fourth quarter before pulling away for a 24-20 victory.
There have been very few examples of partnership among the semi-pro ultimate leagues, especially extending to on the field action, although Portland and Seattle are both notable leaders on that front. Perhaps we are headed towards a more connected era. A mixed format showcase of this caliber certainly can’t hurt.
Pittsburgh Men’s, Georgia Women’s Win CCC; Colorado Men’s and Wisconsin Women’s Win MLC
The premier fall college event took place in Athens, GA, where the Classic City Classic hosted a number of the most successful men’s division programs. The women’s division featured a smaller Southeast-based field.
Pittsburgh took home the men’s division crown with a 14-11 win over the host team, Georgia. A universe point semifinal win over Vermont put Pitt into the final, where they took care of business against a robust Georgia team. UGA knocked off Brown in their semifinal on their way to the championship match.
Athens didn’t go home empty handed, however, as Georgia Athena went undefeated, pummeling regional rival Florida State in the final 11-2.
Elsewhere, at MLC, the Wisconsin women’s division team knocked off all comers on the way to an MLC victory. A 9-7 final score against Texas in the final sealed the deal, an impressive start for Wisconsin.
In the men’s division, two DGP semifinals – Colorado over Wisconsin and Purdue over Carleton – setting up a final between Mamabird and Undue. But Purdue failed to score a single goal against a Colorado team missing some of its top players, who were at the West Coast U24 national team tryout.
