Florida Warm Up continued on Saturday with, for the most part, another excellent day of ultimate. Sure, the weather regressed somewhat, with temperatures dropping into the low 50s and the wind starting to pick up, but the quality of play was still commensurate with what you’d expect from day two of the season for a bunch of college kids. After match play concluded late Saturday afternoon, we had the following final standings:

That set up this bracket to determine the winner of Florida Warm Up 2026:

Heading into quarters, I was all prepared to write about a lot of the cool things I saw on Saturday, from Ryan duSaire’s truly outstanding defense to Virginia Tech Burn’s dynamite duo, and much more. I still will, but in far fewer words, because the quarterfinal rounds were…whatever the opposite of a spectacle is.

First, notes from the second half of match play.

– #1 Carleton CUT were not happy with their energy level on day one, and let out all of that frustration on Saturday morning in a 13-4 evisceration of #19 BYU CHI. Ryan duSaire led an outstanding defensive showing with multiple well-timed blocks and some of the best person defense we’ll see in college this year. Rookie Aage Bonnell looks like an early ROTY candidate and could get some down ballot votes for DPOTY as well. Nathan de Morgan and Thomas Shope also had some key plays. CUT’s offense is equally excellent: Declan Miller and Sarek Mallareddy are starting to form a beautiful cutting partnership. There’s still a few small details to iron out, but they played off each other so well. They also kept on going against each other in warmups, which I’m choosing to believe is an intentional decision to get Mallareddy learning as much as he can from Miller, and was also really fun to watch.
