TAMPA — Warmer than usual temperatures greeted teams on Friday for the first day of action at Florida Warm Up. With BYU looking to continue their undefeated season and most other teams getting in their first games of the year, there were plenty of storylines to follow on the University of South Florida campus.
Three teams — BYU, Minnesota, and UMass — finished the day undefeated, though each had some easy wins on their schedule. The action ramps up on Saturday as teams jockey for positions in the top eight for a right to play quarterfinals in the evening.

The top eight teams — as determined first by win-loss record and, if tied, then by the USA Ultimate algorithm — will play for the tournament title. Tournament Director Dario Milano ran the numbers after Friday’s games. This is what the brackets would look like if they were decided today. 1
