Who, exactly, defines the ultimate community?

Q: With the latest round of investments, is the AUDL no longer dependent on the ultimate community? Outside of players actually showing up to play, has the AUDL moved past the need for overall support from the community? The flip side of this with the PUL doing another round of fundraising after getting a large amount of support from their jersey program last year. Is the PUL dependent 100% on ultimate community buy-in?

Q: Do people across ultimate really have the same idea of what “the current ultimate community” is or what it’s talking about? For me, I’m thinking how in a normal year I’d have the people I know locally (but mainly the people locally who I talk to most), the people I keep in touch with from previous playing experience, the people I’m in various group chats with, and the people I see on Twitter. The last place I lived while play was happening, nobody cared about the AUDL, but is that representative?
