Mixed Discussion

  • It’s hard to know quite what to make of the results from Select Flight Invite West, where teams obviously had more on their mind than the on-field competition. Still, San Francisco Mischief picked up a pair of surprising losses in their first tournament of the season, seeing them drop down to the bottom of the Top 10, just behind #9 Arizona Lawless, the nominal tournament winners. Given the circumstances, it’s tough to fairly evaluate the results from Dallas Public Enemy, though they did look strong even without a full roster. They rise ten spots up to #13.
  • Asheville Superlame had a tough weekend at their home event and tumble all the way out of the rankings this week. This team was built primarily for the Series last year and may be back on form come Regionals again this season, but for now their results don’t look like a Top 25 team.
  • Returning to the board is Robyn Fennig-led Madison NOISE, who won Cooler Classic and now find themselves at the #24 spot. Joining them as new entrants this week are Huntsville Space Force, who dominated all comers at the HoDown Throwdown — including previous #10 Superlame. They bump out former #25 Vancouver Red Flag, who have remained idle on this side of the border.

Women’s Discussion

  • St. Louis Stellar and Madison Heist split a pair of matchups at Cooler Classic and now sit next to each other at the very back end of the rankings. Stellar gets the nod for the #24 spot by dint of winning the tournament final to avenge their pool play loss. The idle Seattle Underground get bumped, but will have a chance to earn their way back in with a strong showing at the Eugene Open this weekend against several Top 10 programs.

Men’s Discussion

  • As one of two ranked teams in action this week, Madison Mad Men held strong at the #20 spot by winning their third tournament of the season, albeit over unranked opposition. The other ranked team, Utah The Killjoys, absolutely dominated Select Flight Invite West lambasting a Golden Fungi team that flirted with Top 25 inclusion last week in a lopsided final. The impressive performance was enough to see the Utah squad jump three spots up to #21.
