D-I Women’s Division Discussion
- It is only one spot to #2, but take note of UC Santa Cruz continuing to turn in their finest performance in program history. They made quick work of Superfly in the Stanford Invite final, marking them as the clear top club at the tournament.
- A 2-4 weekend at Stanford Invite, including a disappointing 0-3 Saturday, sent Vermont tumbling down to #20. It’s the lowest they’ve been ranked since 2018.
- Fellow New England club Northeastern went up to #17, supplanting Vermont as the second team (behind Tufts) in the region. A Sunday win over Vermont certainly helped their case, as did a pair of wins over Minnesota and a close loss to UC San Diego.

D-I Men’s Division Discussion
- Cal Poly SLO’s Northwest Challenge win enabled them to complete their return to #6, the spot at which they began the 2026 season in our Power Rankings. They bottomed out at #18, but have consistently improved since their early season stumbles.
- UCLA leapt into the rankings at #17 after topping UBC and Utah (for the second straight event), although they did lose all of their day two matchups for the second consecutive tournament. Loic Billaut gives them a great talent to center.
- A poor showing on the road at NWC sent Minnesota packing from the top 25, as they managed just a single win during their trip. They aren’t far off the pace, but their shot at winning a strength bid is over.

D-III Women’s Division Discussion
- Grand Northeast Kickoff gave fans a preview of New England Regionals, with Middlebury running through the competition and never allowing more than five scores. But we expected that.
- Wellesley and Mt. Holyoke were the real stories of the weekend, splitting games in pool play and the bracket. Daisy Chain had a tough Saturday, going 1-2 with a loss to Rhode Island and only making the bracket on point diff. Sunday’s Daisy was more in line with priors, taking down the Whiptails in the rematch and making the final. That day one is hard to shake however, and Mt. Holyoke fall out of the top 10 while Wellesley’s strong showing moves them into the top 15.

D-III Men’s Division Discussion
- As in the women’s division, Grand Northeast Kickoff brought mostly intra-region play, with Williams coming out on top over Brandeis twice. It’s a strong outcome for a WUFO squad hoping to make it back to Nationals after falling short at regionals last year. Though Brandeis made the final and played Williams to universe in pool play, also playing unranked Colby to universe twice drops TRON a spot.
- Over on the West Coast, Claremont made the final at Southwest Showdown against mostly D-I competition, only falling to UC San Diego on universe.
