Ultiworld’s College Power Rankings, presented by the National Ultimate Training Camp. NUTC is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this summer!
While our College Power Rankings can always be found on our permanent rankings page, every week during the season we will post the current edition here on the front page to facilitate discussion in the comments and serve as a permalink for each week’s rankings.
UC Santa Barbara makes the biggest jump of any division this week after emerging unscathed from the Southwest gauntlet. Their vanquished bracket foes, Stanford and Cal Poly SLO, settle just behind the Burning Skirts.
UC Davis are also up big for playing Stanford and UC Santa Cruz within one on Sunday. The losses landed them in the game-to-go, where Rogue claimed the region’s last bid.
Michigan nabbed the Great Lakes’ sole bid, but Notre Dame gave Flywheel quite the scare in the final. Last year’s Nationals attendees were down 10-7 before running off five in a row to again end Echo’s season in heartbreak.
Georgia and Penn also went undefeated and secured a trip to Nationals, fending off challengers in Georgia Tech and Ohio to win their regions.
Virginia could not pull off the upset of the weekend to take the NC’s bid from North Carolina, but their admirable 15-9 effort and clear separation from the rest of the field sees Hydra up two spots.
Cal’s loss to UC Santa Cruz in Southwest semis dropped Ursa Major to the backdoor bracket, where it took a slim win over unranked UC Santa Barbara to book their return trip to Nationals.
Washington University scored a comfortable 13-7 win over Texas to advance to the South Central final, securing the region’s second bid in a near reversal of the pair’s Florida Warm Up score line.
Michigan bump out South Carolina for the final spot in our rankings off an undefeated romp through the Great Lakes. Magnum’s closest game came against Illinois in semis, 13-9.

Dropped from rankings:Wellesley (23), Scranton (25)
Title-contenders Wesleyan had to convert an upwind break on universe to claim the Metro East crown over Rochester. Weather, however, was certainly a factor, as wind over 20 mph forced points with over 20 possessions per team.
Haverford/Bryn Mawr ascend to the #1 spot for the first time. The Sneetches never gave up more than six points all weekend, taking down Kenyon 14-4 in the final to extend their OV title streak.
Attending their second Nationals should however be a salve for Kenyon, as they beat Lehigh in the game-to-go. Gravity avenged their conferences loss to Scranton to kickoff their backdoor brawl, and take Electric City’s spot at the end of our rankings.
Conferences shmonferences. Middlebury rebounded from their Bowdoin loss with wins over Mount Holyoke and Williams to reclaim the NE crown after a year away.
Last year’s bearers, Wellesley, were not so lucky, getting doubled up by Amherst early in the backdoor bracket. Sparkle Motion proceeded to play Mt. Holyoke within four in the game-to-go to the game-to-go, capping a strong regional showing that built on a breakout conferences performance.
Mt. Holyoke advanced to take the region’s second and last bid with a gritty universe point win over Williams.

Dropped from rankings:Colorado School of Mines (21)
St. Olaf adds another tally to the infamous list of D-III teams to win a chip and then miss Nationals altogether the next year, falling on universe to Carleton in the one bid North Central.
Missouri S&T and Colorado College switch places after Miner Threat took the 12-8 win and the South Central’s last bid.
Knocked out early in their quest to steal that bid was Colorado School of Mines, who lost to Truman State in backdoor quarters.
The Hillsdale Chargers land a spot at Nationals and in our power rankings thanks to their play at Great Lakes Regionals, which included a 15-7 pasting of Asbury in semis.
